じゃありません ("is not") and じゃないです ("is not") are both negative forms of です ("is").

Conversation 1

You are on the right in the picture visiting your friend, Mari. Your instructor will play a role of Mari. Let' practice asking Mari how to call each object in Japanese. Example:

You Picture はにほんごでなんて　いいますか。

Mari (Instructor) えって　いいます。

Conversation 2

You are on the right in the picture visiting your friend, Mari. Your instructor will play a role of Mari. You ask Mari what each object is. Pay attention to the use of appropriate demonstrative pronouns. Example:

You これはなんですか。

Mari (Instructor) それは　コンピュータです。

Work with your partner. Look at the pictures and ask what kidn of thing is is. Answer using one of the adjectives. な-adjectives are marked in pink below.

Look at each slide and create conversations using い-Adj + Nです or な-Adj +な+ Nです. な-adjectives are marked in pink below.

Negative Forms of Adjectives

Complete the chart below by following the given example. な-adjectives are marked in pink below.

Look at each slide and ask the conditions of each item and answer affirmatively or negatively. Note that い-Adjです and な-Adjです have different negative endings. な-adjectives are marked in pink below.

Work with your partner. Ask your partner about the following things and person s/he has, using appropriate adjectives. Use the adjectives from the list below. な-adjectives are marked in pink below.
