Roleplay Guideline 1
(Regular Class Version)
Date and Schedule: See the Course Portal.

Before the day of roleplay, you will be paired with someone in class to form a team. One person will play a customer. The other person will play a store clerk. On the day of the roleplay, each team will receive a separate instruction and will be given 5 minutes to prepare for the roleplay.

After the time is up, you will roleplay a 1 to 2 minute shopping conversation.

After the roleplay, the audience will be asked to write down what the customers of other teams bought (exact quantity, price, etc.) and explain why he/she bought it if any reason was given (e.g., ～さんは～を Qtyと ～を Qty かいました。～より～のほうが～から、それを かいました。) and submit it to the instructor.
Use as many expressions we learned so far as possible.

Example:

A: いらっしゃいませ。
B: ～がありますか。
A: はい、ございますよ。こちらです。
B: ～のがありますか。
A: はい、どうぞ。
B: これはいくらですか。
A: ～円です。
B: そうですか。ちょっと～ですね。もっと～のはありませんか。
A: こちらはいかがでございますか。～より～ですよ。
B: いいですけど、～が～ですね。もうすこし～のはありませんか。
A: じゃあ、こちらはいかがでございますか。
B: ああ、いいですね。じゃ、～をQty.と、～をQty.ください。
A: ～がQty.と、～がQty.でございますね。かしこまりました。しょうしょうおまちください。
(Pause)
A: ～は一つ～円で、～は一つ～円でございますから、ぜんぶで～円になります。
　　どうもありがとうございました。

Criteria:
  • Did the conversation follow the given assignment?
  • Did the conversation follow the time limitations?
  • Was conversation grammatically accurate and contained many structures learned so far?
  • Was the conversation clear (e.g., pronunciation, intonation, rhythm)?
